Unbeaten heavyweights Daniel Dubois and Nathan Gorman are set to put their records on the line when they square off for the vacant British Heavyweight Title at the O2 and exclusively live on BT Sport.
This is certainly the biggest fight to date for both Dubois (21) and Gorman (22) who will both be putting everything on the line for the coveted Lord Lonsdale belt.
The fight is being billed as the best battle between unbeaten prospects since George Groves and James DeGale took to the ring back in 2011, when the former took home a majority decision win.
Undercard announcements are expected next week but promoter Frank Warren has already suggested that Olympic Silver medallist Joe Joyce and former world title challenger and current British Middleweight champion Liam Williams will feature.
Dubois, who opened as an early favourite with the bookies in the bout was in a confident mood at the press conference, as reported by the Mirror.
As I have always said, whoever is put in front of me I have to go through them and that is what I have done so far.
As I proved in my last fight, I want to bring excitement to the heavyweight division for the fans and I promise it will be another explosive night on July 13th.
Gorman also expressed his confidence going into the fight.
I am very surprised, to be fair.I was probably expecting it to be next year – in the summer time probably – and that is what I thought. When the phone call came it took me only a matter of seconds to say yes so it is nearly here now and only a couple of months away.
I’m over the moon we’ve got the fight on. Fair play to Daniel, I didn’t think he would have accepted it, but he is obviously as keen as I am to fight. There should be plenty of excitement and a I’m sure the fans will love it.
