Amir Khan has reportedly turned down the chance to face off against Kell Brook in an all-British showdown, instead choosing to take on American Terence Crawford in April, talkSPORT report.
Boxing Scene claim that the Bolton-born fighter has informed promoter Eddie Hearn over his choice to face Crawford, with a clash against the WBO welterweight world champion set for April.
The report suggests that the bout could be staged at Madison Square Garden in New York on April 20.
Sheffield-born Brook has been willing to face off against Khan for a number of years and it looked extremely likely that the two Brits would meet inside the ring in 2019.
However, Brook now looks to be on the search for a new opponent in 2019, with two of America’s super-welterweight world champions Jarrett Hurd and Tony Harrison admitting in recent weeks that they would be interested in taking on the Brit.
