Floyd Mayweather Jr has confirmed that he will fight against kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in Japan on 31st December, according to a report on BBC Sport.
The American’s most recent bout was against Conor McGregor in August 2017 and since then, he has always hinted at returning to the fighting scene.
Mayweather has signed a deal with a mixed martial arts company RIZIN Fighting Federation and the format of the bout is yet to be decided.
Mayweather is expected to push through the boxing rules, just as he did in the fight with UFC star McGregor.
When speaking about the fight with Nasukawa, Mayweather said:
I wanted to do something different. I wanted to display my skills outside the US and be in a special fight. I want to give the people what they want – blood, sweat and tears.
The 41-year-old will face the highly-rated 20-year-old Japanese fighter, who boasts a 27-0 record in kickboxing and a 4-0 record in MMA.
