Anthony Joshua reveals how Tony Bellew can defeat Oleksandr Usyk
Anthony Joshua has revealed how fellow Brit Tony Bellew can defeat Oleksandr Usyk next weekend, Boxing Scene report.
Joshua, who currently holds the WBO, WBA, IBF and IBO belts, is looking for an opponent for next April at Wembley Stadium, with either Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury or Dillian Whyte looking most likely to face the Brit.
However, Ukrainian Usyk, who currently boasts a 15-0 professional record, has admitted he would consider stepping up a division to challenge Joshua, if he can brush aside Bellew.
Many believe Merseysider Bellew doesn’t have a chance in Manchester next weekend, however, Joshua has recently revealed how he could cause an upset.
Talking to Sky Sports, Joshua heaped praise on Bellew and admitted he will have to work on his counter punching, stating that’s the only way to knock Usyk out.
I rate Bellew highly, I rate all British boxers highly and they’re all stepping up to the plate. It’s a fight that’s credible, and I respect Bellew, because after that David Haye fight it was a question whether he was going to retire or was he going to carry on?
He’s got to lose weight, put himself through a gruelling training regime and bring them titles back home. Good look to Bellew we are rooting for you. Usyk is like a perfect boxer, so I hope Bellew is working on his counter punching as well, because that’s the way to knock him out.
With Bellew’s most recent fights coming at heavyweight level against David Haye, the Merseysider could well have his work cut out against Usyk, but with Joshua’s tips, Bellew may surprise the boxing world once more.
