Tyson Fury to target Deontay Wilder’s ‘glass chin’
British heavyweight Tyson Fury has once again slammed WBC champion Deontay Wilder ahead of their huge clash in December, claiming the American has a ‘glass chin’, Boxing Scene report.
The pair are set to face off on December 1 in Los Angeles, with both fighters heading into the clash with undefeated professional records.
Both Fury and Wilder have clashed at previous press conferences, with security having to step in on multiple occasions to separate the heavyweights coming to physical blows.
The winner of the bout in nine weeks’ time will more than likely go on to challenge Anthony Joshua at Wembley Stadium next April, with the Brit recently defeating Russian Alexander Povetkin.
However, despite Fury admitting Wilder’s strong punching power, the self-proclaimed ‘Gypsy King’ has launched another verbal attack on his rival, as he looks to step up the mind games ahead of the clash.
Fury attacked Wilder’s previous competition in the amateur scene and admitted he is curious to see how the American will cope when facing ‘a proper heavyweight champion’.
He goes on about he’s beaten this person, he’s beaten that person.
I’ve seen him knocked out before, spark out, by a little fat fella, that big [raises his hand] – out. In the amateurs, he boxed America versus Russia and the little Russian fella cleaned him out. Bam! The ‘Bomb Squad? The Bomb Squad’ was on his back. Like a dead fly, he was on his back, legs and arms in the air, sparked out.
So he might be able to punch, but I know he’s got a glass chin. All big punchers can’t take one back. So let’s see if he can really do the talking when it comes to fighting a proper heavyweight champion of the world.
