Povetkin sends final warning to Joshua ahead of fight
Alexander Povetkin has warned Anthony Joshua that he is not worried about the size difference between them and has claimed that he knows the champion’s weaknesses, according to a report on the Mirror.
Both fighters will come face to face in the ring on Saturday night at Wembley Stadium as Joshua puts his IBF, IBO, WBA and WBO heavyweight titles on the line.
Many fans and pundits believe that Joshua will win this fight comfortably but Joshua believes that it could prove to be one of the hardest fights of his career.
The ageing Povetkin knows he may not get another title chance like this and is eager to cause a huge upset in London. The Russian said:
Yeah, perhaps there is more pressure to win on his shoulders. There’s a saying in Russia: You feel like the walls are closing in.
Psychologically, I’m very stable. I don’t feel under any pressure. Size does not concern me at all. Big guys always have their weaknesses.
Joshua has promised that he will go to knockout Povetkin but insists that if needed, then he will use a more defensive approach as he did against Joesph Parker in March at the Principality Stadium.
Povetkin admitted that Joshua is a strong opponent but also claimed that he is as strong as him and that he will show the world on Saturday exactly what Joshua’s weaknesses are.
