Tyson Fury: ‘I am the greatest boxer that has ever lived’
Heavyweight Tyson Fury has stated this week that he is the ‘greatest boxer that has ever lived’ and has fired warnings to American Deontay Wilder and fellow Brit Anthony Joshua in the process.
The self-proclaimed ‘Gypsy King’ made his return to the ring in June, with a comical stoppage victory against Sefer Seferi in Manchester.
The 29-year-old is now preparing for his second fight since his return against Francesco Pianeta, on the undercard of Carl Frampton’s clash with Luke Jackson at Windsor Park in Belfast next week.
In an interview with talkSport, cited by the Daily Star, Fury was quick to fire warnings at the heavyweight giants and also made a sensational claim about himself.
I will beat them senseless – people may listen to this and think I’m a lunatic.
But I am the greatest boxer that has ever lived in the heavyweight division, and that is a statement.
I’m 6ft 9in and 19 stone and I’m the greatest boxer that has ever lived.
God has given me so much talent and ability to move, twist, bend and counter.
If Fury comes out on top against Pianeta, he will then turn his attention on a proposed meeting with Wilder, with the winner out of that fight potentially facing off against Joshua at Wembley Stadium.
