Ricky Hatton gives his view on Fury-Bellew talks
Ricky Hatton has admitted a potential fight between Tyson Fury and Tony Bellew could well be on after hearing it through ‘boxing circles’.
Fury made his return to the boxing ring last month, following a 32-month absence and defeated Albanian Sefer Seferi in Manchester, with Hatton a part of his team.
Meanwhile, Bellew defeated David Haye for a second time back in March and hasn’t fought since.
Reports over a potential clash between the pair have intensified over recent weeks, with both Bellew and Fury claiming they would knock each other out in quick time.
Hatton, who has been allowing the returning ‘Gypsy King’ to train in his gym regularly, confirmed that a British mega clash could well be on the cards in the near future.
I keep hearing he’s going to fight Tony Bellew. I’ve not seen Fury – he has not been in the gym as I think he is in Marbella. But that’s what I keep getting told in little boxing circles.
Fury is set to fight again at Windsor Park in Belfast next month, and another dominant performance could well set up a clash with Bellew in the future as Fury aims to make it back to the top of the heavyweight division.
