Tony Bellew: “Tyson Fury not ready for me”
Tony Bellew believes fellow Brit Tyson Fury is “not ready” for him as the pair continue to flirt over a potential meeting inside the ring, Sky Sports report.
Bellew has vowed to knock Fury out and end his comeback if the pair meet, with promoters Frank Warren and Eddie Hearn open to the possibility of the bout.
Fury returned to the ring after two-and-a-half years out with an unusual fourth-round stoppage against Albanian Sefer Seferi in Manchester last weekend.
The self-proclaimed ‘Gypsy King’ is set to fight again in Belfast on August 18th as he looks to rack up the rounds inside the ring.
A confident Bellew, who is coming off the back of two wins over David Haye, admitted he isn’t concerned about the prospect of facing Fury, admitting the 29-year-old isn’t ready for him.
Talking to Sky Sports, Bellew said:
I’d love it. I’ll be honest, Tyson Fury isn’t really ready for me. I would stop Tyson Fury quicker than I stopped David Haye. There’s no two ways about it. I think he needs another fight, and I’ll give him another fight, no problem at all. But we need to talk, speak to Eddie Hearn.
Bellew also admitted it is great to see Fury back in the ring, however, the Merseysider believes he will end Fury’s comeback if they meet inside the ring.
