Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed that he strongly believes Anthony Joshua will fight Deontay Wilder next, according to a report on the Express.

Both parties are eager to get the fight negotiations complete but details such as the location and broadcasters are holding up the deal.

Hearn has been in constant communication with the American’s representatives and revealed that things are currently moving in the right direction.

He said:

Conversations are ongoing with Wilder. AJ really wants to fight in the UK next but obviously, it is a big opportunity to fight Wilder in America and it is something we are considering strongly.

We know we have got a great opportunity to try and become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world and he would love to do it in the UK.

We have to explore it more, which we have been doing over the last week or so. We are talking regularly, they are answering our questions now and I’m hopeful that the fight can get over the line.

I think it will be his next one.

However, Hearn must be as quick as he can to get the deal sorted because Joshua has a mandatory challenger in Alexander Povetkin, who is also hoping to be his next opponent.

The IBF, IBO, WBA and WBO heavyweight champion has also been linked with a fight with Jarrell Miller, but he only has his eyes set on Wilder for now.
