Anthony Joshua sets new Guinness World Record
WBO, WBA, IBF and IBO heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has set a new Guinness World Record, according to a report on the World Boxing News.
Joshua now holds the title for having the largest Boxercise lesson as he put more than 500 people through their paces.
The British fighter led 541 participants at York Hall to break the record in partnership with Lucozade Sport Fitwater.
All the participants were shown some common combat moves by the heavyweight champion, which they were challenged to replicate.
The Boxercise class was put together Lucozade Sport, who are campaigning to get more people active around the UK by introducing their new electrolyte water ‘Fitwater’.
Joshua is an official ambassador for Lucozade Sport and said:
It’s been really exciting to be part of setting a new Guinness World Records title with Fitwater. To get over 500 people taking part in something I’m passionate about is amazing. I hope our World Record success inspires more people to get moving and involved in Boxercise.
Joshua is well known for always promoting boxing due to the impact that it had on him personally when he was a youngster.
The sport managed to get him out of trouble with the authorities and taught him several valuable life lessons which he hopes can also change the lives of many other people.
