Joshua promises that there will be “blood” in Parker clash
IBF, IBO and WBA heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has promised that there will be “blood” in his eagerly anticipated matchup with New Zealand fighter Joseph Parker at the end of the month, according to a report on Sky Sports.
Joshua and Parker are both approaching their final preparations for the bout and both of their undefeated records are being put on the line.
WBO heavyweight champion Parker is not being underestimated by Joshua, who believes that his speed and movement might cause him a few problems at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on 31st March.
Joshua is predicting a punishing fight, with both fighters landing heavy punches to hurt each other.
He said:
I can’t tell you exactly how the fight will go, but we’re big, we’re strong, and the punches do hurt after a while.
I definitely know there’ll be blood. There will definitely be blood, and the thing is – you can definitely hear the leather, cracking on people’s heads, if you’re close enough as well, and we’re both fast.
You’ll see really good combinations that you don’t really see from heavyweights.
Boxing fans have been waiting patiently for this fight, which promises to be a heavyweight classic.
Joshua is expected to come into the fight a lot lighter than previous fights after he and promoter Eddie Hearn identified that his body weight was negatively impacting his stamina in the later rounds of fights.
