According to Boxing News, a rematch between James DeGale and Caleb Truax is likely, with talks reportedly progressing well.
DeGale, who was crowned Olympic champion in Beijing in 2008, lost his IBF super-middleweight title to Truax in what was seen as a major upset last year.
However, with Chris Eubank Jr open to the possibility of a title bout with American Truax after his recent defeat to George Groves, DeGale is desperate for a rematch to avenge his shock defeat in December.
Frank Warren, who promoted the fight between the pair previously, is in discussions with Al Haymon, who represents both DeGale and Truax to make the rematch possible, which is believed to be in the UK in the coming months.
When asked by the media over the possibility of a rematch, Warren said:
In the spring, we’re working on it now. We’re working with Al Haymon’s company, we’re trying to get it done.
With talks seemingly progressing nicely, it may not be long until we see DeGale and Truax back in action, with the Brit looking to take back his title.
