Northern Irish boxer Carl Frampton has confirmed that his partnership with manager Barry McGuigan and Cyclone Promotions has come to an end.

Frampton had been managed by the boxing legend since 2009 and has won two world titles at two different weights.

Frampton was set to face Mexico’s Andres Gutierrez last July, but, the fight was cancelled at the last minute.

Despite being one pound over the weight, Frampton was still set to fight before Gutierrez injured himself by slipping in the shower.

In a statement that was released today, Frampton thanked Cyclone for all the work they’ve done and that homecoming fight will take place in the near future.

I would like to thank Barry, the McGuigan family and Cyclone Promotions for our time together,

I still believe that I’m the best featherweight in the world and I promise my fans that I am continuing with my efforts to get my homecoming fight rescheduled in the very near future.
