Joshua vs Klitshcko 2 set to happen after IBF exception
World heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been granted an exception by the IBF to face Wladimir Klitschko for the second time.
The governing body ruled that the winner of Joshua vs Klitschko 2 has to face the IBF mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev.
The rematch, however, has to take place before December 2nd.
Pulev at first objected to the exception, but, he later was in favour of the rematch as he will be facing the winner immediately after.
A number of venues are being considered to stage the rematch after an action-packed fight in front of 90,000 people at Wembley Stadium last April.
Speaking to Sky Sports, promoter Eddie Hearn revealed that numerous offers have been made to stage the super-fight.
We’ve had so many offers – Nigeria, Dubai, America, and also we have the opportunity of Cardiff here in the UK,
Financially, Cardiff’s not the best choice, but also at the same time, if it’s not broke don’t fix it, and we have that mentality with ‘AJ’ moving forward.
Cardiff’s Principality Stadium is the only UK venue being considered due to the fact that it has a roof which would make a fight in the winter possible.
