Tony Bellew still has hope of claiming a world heavyweight title, but, not the titles held by Anthony Joshua.

After producing a memorable win over David Haye back in March, Tony Bellew is eager to challenge for a world heavyweight title.

However, after Anthony Joshua’s win against Wladimir Klitschko on Saturday (29/04/2017) at Wembley Stadium, Bellew said he will not face the WBA, IBF and IBO title holder.

Absolutely not. I don’t need that kind of fight. He’s far too good for me.

Promoter Eddie Hearn is hoping to secure a fight with Joseph Parker who currently holds the WBO belt.

Parker faces Romanian Razvan Cojanu in Auckland on May 6th.

Speaking after Joshua’s fight at Wembley Stadium, Bellew made it clear he will not face Joshua.

I’m still dreaming about winning the heavyweight world title but a different portion to the one AJ has.

When asked about a potential clash with Joseph Parker, Bellew has faith that Eddie Hearn can deliver the right fight.

I say Eddie knows what he’s doing.
