Charles Martin is set to make his comeback on April 25th in Tunica, Mississippi.

The former IBF heavyweight champion is set to face Byron Polley in a non-televised fight at Fitzgeralds Casino and Hotel.

Martin has not stepped into the ring since his loss to Anthony Joshua at the O2 last April where he also lost his IBF title.

Martin was set to return in November, but, was shot on August 25th by an assailant in Los Angeles.

He underwent emergency surgery, but, had not spoken about the incident publicly.

According to police reports, Martin looked down at a pool of blood and said the following.

I said to myself, ‘I gotta get outta here. I’m gonna die. I’m gonna bleed to death. I have to pay respect to the cops. They saved my life.’

He is focused on getting back in the ring to begin putting what as a promising 2016 behind him.
