Cyclone’s Edinburgh show flying under the radar this weekend
This week in Edinburgh, Cyclone Promotions brings you a show headlined by hometown talent Josh Taylor defending his Commonwealth super lightweight title against South African Warren Joubert.
On the back of his impressive performance winning the title against tough Englishman Dave Ryan, the talented Scotsman returns in front his home support in his first defence of the belt against the South African champion in which he will be the hot favourite to produce another Stella display.
Also on the bill is Northern Ireland’s Conrad Cummings looking to get back on track against Gogi Knezevic of Austria, as the pair meet to challenge for the vacant WBO European title, Cummings will be eager to get back to winning ways after a underwhelming display in his split decision loss to Ronny Mittag last time out.
The show is flying under the radar some what with the attention predominantly focused on the Lightweight unification showdown in Manchester between Anthony Crolla and Jorge Linares, but, for those with out satellite television the Edinburgh show will be broadcast on Channel 5 and is certainly worth taking the time to watch.
With many in the business predicting Josh Taylor to be on route to heavy heights in the sport, it will be interesting to see the next step in his journey towards world title honours this Friday night.
