Michael Conlan scores 3rd round KO on Spectacular MSG Debut
Irish boxing sensation Michael Conlan, made a Spectacular debut at Madison square garden on an electric St Patrick’s day night in New York this past Friday scoring a 3rd round knockout victory over Tim Obarra.
Following a fantastic amateur career the Irishman was finally dipped his toes into the professional ranks for the first time after recently signing a promotional deal with Bob Arum’s Top Rank promotions, in front of a packed out arena of a strong contingent of supporters who created an Intense and electrifying atmosphere, Conlan delivered a professional performance announcing his arrival in the super bantamweight division to his fellow professionals in good fashion.
Conlan who was walked to the ring by fellow Irishman and UFC mega star Conor McGregor who is heavily rumoured to be close to signing a deal to fight pound for pound Floyd Mayweather, certainly made his presence felt on the night was clearly seen being very vocal at ringside during the contest added extra spice to the occasion.
Big things are expected from Conlan following his success in the amateur ranks and you can expect him to be moved quickly with a world title fight in 2018 a real possibility and on the back of a memorable debut like this more nights like this will be looked forward to by many fans around the world.
