Joshua beats Molina with third round stoppage
Anthony Joshua made a successful defence of his IBF heavyweight title for the second time with a stoppage victory against Eric Molina last night (10/12/2016) in Manchester.
The first two rounds saw Joshua looking to find his range against Molina and this led to a devastating performance in the third.
Joshua pinned Molina in the corner with a short overhand right sending Molina down to the canvas, who somehow found a way back on his feet.
The fight only lasted a few more seconds however as Joshua bombarded his opponent forcing the referee to bring a stop to the fight.
Following the fight, Matchroom’s Eddie Hearn was quick to reveal that Joshua will be facing former heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko at Wembley Stadium on April 29th.
Speaking after the fight, Joshua did not seem phased by his upcoming match against Wladimir Klitschko for the unified heavyweight champion.
Klitschko wants his belts back and may the best man win.
Also on the night, there were wins for Katie Taylor in her second professional fight and Kal Yafai who became WBA super-flyweight champion.
Dillian Whyte came out on top in what is being billed as a possible ‘fight of the year’ contender against Dereck Chisora in a WBC world title eliminator.
