Tony Bellew knocks out BJ Flores
Tony Bellew defended his WBC cruiserweight title in Liverpool last night (16/09/2016) after knocking out BJ Flores in three rounds.
Flores was knocked down three times during the bout with his dangerous left hook in the second round.
When Flores fell to the floor for the fourth time, he failed to answer the referees count and the fight ended.
It was not the fight however that kept boxing fans talking, it was what happened after the fight between Bellew and David Haye who was ringside.
Following his victory, Bellew taunted Haye about his return to the ring.
I’ve smashed your mate, your playboy buddy, and I will smash you exactly the same way.
I’m the biggest payday you’ll get.
Bellew went onto to talk to Haye about the two opponents he had fought on his return to boxing in front of a huge crowd at the Echo Arena.
Those two guys you just fought were a joke and you’re robbing everybody who pays to come to the arena,
Earlier that evening, Luke Campbell beat Liverpool’s own Derry Mathews in the fourth round after two stinging body shots, retaining his WBC silver lightweight title.
